My Gram was a curious 101-year-old lady when she left me. Curiosity, that fundamental human drive to explore and learn, is strongly connected to our overall health and happiness. Gram was interested in people, in things, what worked, why it worked or didn’t work. I was fortunate to have had many years of her examples, but I’m still learning.

Here are a few ideas to spark new interests:

·         Try a new hobby: Explore painting, learn to play a musical instrument, pick up knitting, or start gardening. You could even try coding, birdwatching, or photography.

 

·         Read a book on an unfamiliar topic: Dive into a genre you usually avoid, like science fiction, historical fiction, or a biography of someone from a completely different field. Explore books on quantum physics, ancient civilizations, or the history of art.

 

·         Visit a place you've never been before: This could be a new city, a national park, a local museum, or even just a different neighborhood in your town. Explore a new restaurant, a cultural center, or a historical landmark nearby.
